NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETINGS OF VALLEY COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

Notice is hereby given that the regular monthly meeting of the Valley County Board of Supervisors will be held at 9:00 a.m. (CST) on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, regular board meeting at 9:00 a.m. (CST) on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in the County Board meeting room of the Valley County Courthouse in Ord, Nebraska.  The meetings are open to the public.  The agenda for each meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk in the Valley County Courthouse, Ord, Nebraska.

Notice is hereby given that meetings of the Valley County Board of Equalization will be held at 11:00 a.m. (CST) on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, and 11:00 a.m. (CST) on May 28, 2024, in the County Board meeting room of the Valley County Courthouse in Ord, Nebraska.  The meetings are open to the public.  The agenda for each meeting is kept continuously current and is available for public inspection at the office of the County Clerk in the Valley County Courthouse, Ord, Nebraska.

Employment Opportunities

Sheriff Opening
The Valley County Board of Supervisors is seeking resumes from qualified applicants for appointment to the position of the Valley County Sheriff. The appointed individual will administer the functions and personnel of the Sheriff’s office and the running of the Valley County Jail. Qualifications include: a high school diploma or GED, a valid Nebraska driver’s license, and a current State of Nebraska Law Enforcement Certification. The appointed Sheriff will need to reside in Valley County upon appointment. The term of office is from appointment through the duration of the unexpired term ending January 5, 2027. Any interested person is to submit a resume and a copy of your current Nebraska Law Enforcement Certificate to the Valley County Clerk’s Office, 125 S. 15th Street, Ord, NE 68862, (308)728-3700, or via email at clerk@valleycountyne.gov. Any documents must be submitted to the Valley County Clerk’s Office by no later than 4:30 p.m. on April 15, 2024 in order to be considered. The Valley County Board of Supervisors will schedule a special meeting to interview potential candidates and that meeting will occur prior to April 30, 2024. Appointment of a successor as the Valley County Sheriff is tentatively scheduled to occur on April 30, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. during regular session of the Valley County Board of Supervisors.

 

Farmers Market

The Farmers Market will be at the west side of the Courthouse every Friday from June through September from 4:00p.m. to 6:00p.m.
